Those who have yet to file their online tax return with HMRC for the 2014/15 tax year could face daily penalty charges.

HMRC is not doing enough to tackle tax fraud, according to a report by the Public Accounts Committee.

The Administrative Burdens Advisory Board, an independent oversight body for HMRC, has “significant concerns” about the government’s plans to introduce quarterly digital tax returns for businesses.

Several tax changes have come into effect from 1 April 2016 that will affect businesses.

New stamp duty rates on commercial property are set to be introduced from 17 March 2016.
