Simon Knee BA (Hons) FCA - Senior Partner
Simon completed his accountancy degree in 1989, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 with a top 20 firm in Swindon.
He then moved on to London for five years as an audit manager for a medium sized firm in the City, dealing with a wide variety of commercial and non-commercial clients.
He advises a diverse range of corporate and non-corporate clients with a bias to growing owner managed and entrepreneurial businesses. His advice to clients covers the normal taxation and accounting issues, but also encompasses key commercial advice and strategic planning.
Since 2000, Simon has also provided specialist consultancy services to Schools in the independent and maintained sectors. He currently provides services to a number of leading Schools across the Country varying in size from small prep Schools to large independent and maintained Schools.

Colin D Williams BA (Hons) AFTA - Tax Partner
Colin started his career in tax in 1996 when he undertook a tax degree in Taxation and Revenue Law at Bournemouth University. He then went on to a “Big 4” firm where he undertook and completed extensive training as a Tax Adviser which has gained him high quality, high level knowledge of UK tax issues. After working for a mid tier independent firm for many years as a Manager, where he eventually became the Head of Tax Services, Colin was appointed Tax Partner at S D Knee Chartered Accountants in June 2007.
Colin is a mixed tax adviser, dealing primarily with commercially minded owner managed businesses, but he also has a genuinely diverse professional background with experience of large corporate structures together with private client advisory expertise. Of particular note, Colin is highly knowledgeable about VAT, having represented clients – and won – at VAT Tribunals.
Colin’s core client base comes back to owner managed businesses and the minimisation of tax liabilities through robust accounting and tax planning both for incorporated and unincorporated businesses. He deals with new start up businesses, particularly in the consulting sector, as well as established businesses who wish to maximise their return by minimising their overall burden to tax.

Emily Salzman BSc(Hons) ACA - Accounts Manager
Emily began her career in accountancy in 2002 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 with a Top 10 accountancy firm.
Emily initially specialised in audit and worked with a broad portfolio of clients from owner managed businesses through to large limited companies. These clients operated within a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, software, motor and general retail.
After four years Emily transferred to the National Training department and here she both developed courses and delivered training to graduates in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, auditing and tax.
Emily joined S D Knee Chartered Accountants in May 2009 as Accounts Manager. She deals with clients ranging from start up companies to established businesses, schools and charities.
